An Immersive Anatomy Dissection: Unraveling the Mysteries of the Scapulothoracic and Cervico-Shoulder Anatomy from the Body

Speaker: Lauri Nemetz, MA, BC-DMT., Dr. Brad Fullerton, MD.

Dive deep into the intricate anatomy of the scapulothoracic and cervico-shoulder complex through an immersive, hands-on dissection experience. This specialized one-day workshop will provide you with an unprecedented level of anatomical understanding, equipping you with the knowledge needed to enhance and understand shoulder and neck conditions on a more profound visual and tactile level. We will explore the intricate structures and interconnections that govern shoulder and upper back function, along with the relationship to deeper structures such as the diaphragm. You’ll gain a comprehensive, three-dimensional understanding of this critical region. This unique add-on option dissection workshop is an invaluable complement to the approaches covered in our broader conference. No matter your lab experience, gain new insights into this area of the body through a unique exploration.

A minimum of 18 participants must be signed up no later than May 1st, 2025. If this minimum requirement is not fulfilled, we will need to cancel the lab. Please sign up early to reserve your spot. There is a maximum of 30 participants.

Lauri is an Adjunct Professor at Pace University (NY), Visiting Associate Professor Dept. of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Rush University Medical Center (Chicago), a licensed Creative Arts Therapist, a member of the American Association for Anatomy, a board-certified member of the Academy of Dance/Movement Therapists, a Yoga Alliance yoga teacher and education provider at the 500-hour level, a Stott Pilates instructor, certified yoga therapist (IAYT) and provider and former faculty for Anatomy Trains ® and Anatomy Trains ® Dissections. She is head dissector at Anatomic Excellence labs https://anatomicexcellence.com and www.knmlabs.com and guests internationally for dissection projects including the Fascia Net Plastination Project. She is the author of The Myofascial System in Form and Movement (Handspring Publishing, 2023) and a contributor to The Anatomy of Yoga Coloring Book (Staugaard-Jones and Nemetz, North Atlantic books, 2022) as well as numerous articles and book chapters. She has presented internationally including at Harvard Medical, Oxford University, and at conferences for the American Association for Anatomy and more.
